Important:

The strawberry and the leaves are crocheted in a spiral. The stem is crocheted along the starting chain.

Material

›2 crochet hooks, size B-1 or C-2 (2.5mm), and size C-2 or D-3 (3mm)

›DMC Natura Medium Just Cotton (1¾oz.–82yds.) (50g–75m), shade 55, red, 11yds. (10m)

›DMC Natura Just Cotton (1¾oz.–170yds.) (50g–155m), shade 48, green, 3¼yds. (3m), and shade 01, white, 1yd. (1m)

STRAWBERRY

Work in red using larger crochet hook.

Rnd 1: 5 sc in the magic circle (5 st).

Rnd 2: 5 inc (10 st).

Rnd 3: 10 sc (10 st).

Rnd 4: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 5 (15 st).

Rnd 5: 15 sc (15 st).

Rnd 6: (1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc) x 5 (20 st).

Rnd 7: 20 sc (20 st).

Rnd 8: (2 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc) x 4 (24 st)

Rnds 9 and 10: 24 sc (24 st).

Rnd 11: 12 dec (12 st).

Stuff.

Rnd 12: 6 dec (6 st).

Cut the yarn, leaving 12in. (30cm) of length.

Close, then, using a needle, pass the yarn through the strawberry lengthwise and bring the yarn out through the middle of the starting magic circle.

Pull on the yarn to flatten the top of the strawberry a little. Do another stitch or two with the yarn to secure it, then cut it.

Using a fine needle and fine white yarn, embroider small vertical lines randomly over the entire strawberry.
